The time I got a frostbite on Mount Titlis, Switzerland

Being my first adventure post, it had to be exciting! Exquisite! My family and I were on our first trip to Europe. We had a day stop in Switzerland where we 'hiked'...hiked? Where we 'went up' Mount Titlis, Engelberg, Switzerland. You could say it was our first time up a mountain based on how excited but scared we were.
After our long run of cable cars, we reached to the height of the enormous mountain that had the little games or 'rides'. One of them included a ride down a slope of snow while steering yourself, sitting on a little...(side story: you know those little carousel horses? Except smaller and made of cheap plastic.)Yes. We were sitting on that — a smaller, cheaper plastic carousel horse. Now don't get me wrong, the experience, beauty and thrill of Titlis were amazing, but it was just this incident that ruined it.
The slope ended on the cliff of the mountain. So if you were just a little faster in speed on the carousel horse object thing, then you'd potentially just slip off into the air ...maybe.
So in short, you have to sit on the carousel horse, ride down the steep slope of snow(NOT TOO FAST THOUGH), and all that's separating you from falling off, is a bright barricade tape.
The rest of my family sledged down the slope of snow and came back up safely but me being my scared 11-year old self, had no courage to try it out. Fast forward, after a lot of persuading, I decided to try it out. After I started gradually moving faster and faster, I tried to steer my self, which wasn't working out for me OBVIOUSLY, so I put one of my hands into the snow in attempts to steer.
It was probably just a 10-second thrill and nothing more. After I got off, I couldn't feel my hand, but only the pain that it held. I had slight frostbite(nothing serious), but it hurt. IT HURT alright. Later on, it got a bit better after having wrapped it in a scarf we had. Obviously, I lost a few tears but hey, now its a story on my blog.
I would totally recommend you guys to go to Mount Titlis though because maybe I'm just over exaggerating. It was a good experience overall, and the sights were amazing, but perhaps I'm just not a thrill-seeker.
Thanks for reading!
